In my family, we try to have special family night time when we turn off cartoons so we can do an activity as a group. Singing karaoke to nursery rhymes is one of our favorite activities. Because of my background as a certified teacher, I know that learning nursery rhymes has educational value for young kids. Singing is a great strategy for teaching children about language and vocabulary as they learn patterns and sounds that make up words. While singing, we reviewed the Karaoke Night USA CD Sing-A-Long Karaoke with LED Light Show.

Review of the Karaoke Machine

Setting up the karaoke machine was simple. The speaker and CD part connected to a cord that plugged into the wall. One microphone came with the product. Because my family already has some other microphones, we tested out the product with our spare microphone to see how the microphone connector worked. I had to play around with the audio function to get the microphones to work well.

I noticed that the audio levels had to be up for the microphones to have good, loud audio quality. Both audio levels needed to be turned up, including the audio for the microphones and the CD volume. When I turned the volumes up, I could clearly hear our singing amplified with the speakers. Samantha and her younger sister Georgiana loved singing with the karaoke machine. Because we used nursery rhymes, the girls knew the songs well so they could enunciate and articulate their singing.

Family night was a success. Singing to Old McDonald Had a Farm, BINGO, and The Itsy, Bitsy Spider, Samantha had great fun with her family. Using two microphones, our family curtailed any sibling rivalry to ensure that both daughters could use the karaoke machine equally. I look forward to having a nightly routine of singing as a family, and I plan to purchase a couple contemporary kids’ CDs that appeal to adults as well as kids. When my children get older, I’m sure they will continue to love doing duets with their karaoke machine.

That karaoke machine looks like so much fun. I know our children would absolutely love it. Since we have four almost 4 year-old children, they would have to do some group numbers for sure!

This sounds like fun! Love the photo of your daughter and her stuffed dog singing together. 🙂 I have a niece who might enjoy this one…and maybe even our littler boy.
