With temperatures outside reaching the nineties, there’s nothing more satisfying to me than a cup of delicious, sweet iced tea. Since June is National Iced Tea month, it’s the perfect time to check out a new way of brewing iced tea. Did you know that the newest trend is to infuse your tea with fresh fruit? Imagine sweet pomegranate tea infused with apple slices and a splash of fresh lemon. Now, making sophisticated tea drinks is incredibly simple with the Takeya iced tea system.

Takeya Iced Tea Maker Review

To review the iced tea system from Takeya, I received multiple items, including: a 2QT iced tea maker, one of each seven boxes of iced tea, a fruit infuser, a citrus juicer, a modern flip straw bottle and a recipe book called Iced Tea Reinvented. With all of the items the company sent, I was able to thoroughly try out the iced tea system to see how well it would work. Reading the recipe book gave me a lot of neat ideas. Even though I had some ambitions to make fancier recipes, I started out making a simple batch of pomegranate tea because I knew my whole family would enjoy the taste.

My favorite part was that brewing the tea was very simple. To make a batch of tea, all I had to do was boil water, soak tea leaves in the boiling water inside the tea maker using a tea infuser, and put the tea in the refrigerator overnight to chill. Using the tea infuser item was simple. Previously, I had never used a tea infuser that attached to the lid of the serving container for tea. The strategy for brewing the tea worked well. Clean up was simple too. When the tea was served with ice and mixed with some sugar, the result was amazing.

Using the attachments was simple. To add a taste of lemon, I took the citrus juicer and attached it to the iced tea maker. After cutting a fresh lemon in half, I juiced the fruit on the juicer. The taste of the lemon added a nice, traditional flavor to the black tea.

Since we happened to have a pineapple in the refrigerator, I decided to add some to my next batch. I noticed that the Coconut Vibe Iced Tea included pineapple in its ingredients. Adding fresh pineapple sounded like a good fit. The fruit infuser was simple to attach and it worked well. The taste of fresh fruit took the tea to a whole new dimension. The fruit infuser was also really easy to clean. Getting bits of pineapple out of it was simple.

Another item I really liked was the aqua colored flip straw bottle. Just by picking the bottle up, I could tell that it was high quality. The material felt strong and durable.     I should probably invest in this Takeya Iced Tea Maker, with the way my husband drinks Tea. He absolutely loves Tea and I absolutely hate it! I guess he would think of this as a nice gift 😉 Haha!
