One special part of Christmas is the festive holiday home decor. This winter, as I brought each decoration out of storage, I remembered the vivid details from past Christmases. From my childhood ornaments to the trinkets we’ve begun to collect as a family, every item tells a unique story. This is why selecting the items to keep in my home over the holidays is an important choice to make.

Holiday Home Decor

Setting out holiday home decor makes our house alive with joy. From my childhood home, several homemade decorations remind me of the warmth and happiness of Christmas past. When I buy new decor for our home, my goal is that decorations will last for future Christmases. I enjoy bringing out the same items, year after year, to build sentimental memories around the items we own.

Teleflora’s Sparkling Star Centerpiece

This year, I brought back out everything from the Christmas Decor Roundup that I wrote in 2015. From a blow-up, shivering snowman to Tiffany-style stained glass and paper wall decorations, our home looks ready for the holidays. One of my favorite decorations was the vase from last year’s Teleflora Silver and Joy Centerpiece, which I filled with candy that my children snack on from time to time. Last year’s decorations saw every moment of my daughters writing numerous lists to Santa, baking him cookies, and rejoicing over the presents he brought. These memories came to life when I took everything out of the storage boxes and put them out in my home.

Just as the ornaments I saved from my childhood carry nostalgic memories with them, the decorations I took out from last year carry stories with them. When I see decorations from years past, I remember the incredible moments we had. Whether the decorations are homemade or store bought, each one has witnessed the times that have brought our family together.

Weeks ago, Teleflora offered to send me their Sparkling Star Centerpiece for my 2016 Holiday Gift Guide for Relatives. Since the bouquet comes with a beautiful, silver bowl, I like that I can continue to use it year after year. Not only is the bouquet gorgeous, but it is also a practical choice for home decor. Next Christmas, when we take it out again, we will think about the special moments we had together this year. I have the bouquet in my living room where it brings joy to our family as we watch our Christmas movies and watch the snow flurries fall on the street out of our window.

In the bouquet, a gorgeous mixture of festive blooms nicely matches the rest of the holiday decor in my home. With red roses, red miniature carnations, and white cushion spray chrysanthemums, the flowers bring a fresh, natural look to the room. Sprigs of lively green fir accent the red and white blooms. When you can no longer spot live flowers outside anymore, seeing a colorful, bright bouquet is inspirational. I enjoy having flowers in the room where I write, while it has a soothing effect that makes the room more relaxing.

Another beautiful detail of the bouquet are the small, silver ornaments, white-painted pine cones, and the two red candles. I like that the different parts put together make an impressive centerpiece. Whether you place it in the middle of your kitchen table for a Christmas meal or in the living room to add decor to other parts of your home, it will certainly add Christmas spirit to any location.

Although the flowers won’t last much longer, I am very happy that I can use the silver bowl every year. Since the flowers are a beautiful addition to my home, it is nice that the centerpiece also offers a long lasting element that will always remind me of this Christmas.

Since I don’t host, I rarely have any kind of centerpiece at my own home, but I did just get a cute one for my parents, who will be hosting xmas this year.

Every year I send my mom (who lives in another state) holiday flowers about a week before Xmas- she normally uses them as the centerpiece for her holiday dinner table so this is a perfect option!
