Educational Insights provides Theresa’s Reviews with toys every couple of months as part of the EI Insider program. Having used the company’s toys for almost two years, I have been pleased. The company has a creative approach to making toys with educational value. With innovative concepts, the company creates toys that motivate kids to learn. As a certified K-6 teacher, I look for engagement in kids when they learn. Check out my review of each toy, and enter a giveaway. One lucky winner will receive all the toys.

Educational Insights Review & Giveaway

My daughters most enjoyed playing with the Design & Drill Dazzling Creations Studio. In the past, the Design & Drill toys have been successful in my home. The first product we tried, the Socket to Me set, was more uni-sex with blue and green coloring. We also tried the Flower Power Studio set that had a flower case to hold the screws. Now, with the Dazzling Creations Studio, my daughters adore how pretty the product is. Both of my daughters enjoy playing dress up with princess clothes, and they are infatuated with unicorns. The design was very appealing.

One of the items I received was Frankie’s Food Truck Fiasco game. Children who eat at food trucks can appreciate the scenario. Frankie the cat needs help serving his customers, and he faces a couple problems, such as slipping on bananas and flies landing on the food. To play, you spin the spinner. If you land on a shape, you find the food that matches the shape. I liked that the game reinforced spatial reasoning as well as rote memory of shapes. My kids enjoyed playing the game to help Frankie.

Another item was the Hot Dots Jr. Magical Talking Wand. We already own a lot of Hot Dots products. Having another wand came in handy. Usually, my girls share the talking dog wands that they own. With the princess wand, learning was even more fun. Most often, we practice with the Kindergarten reading books. The letter recognition questions are good for my younger daughter, while the phonemic awareness questions are good for the older daughter. We also own the Kindergarten math books, which I like, because kids get repeated practice without wasting worksheet paper. When the wand presses an answer, it produces sound and noise to indicate whether the answer is correct. The sound effects and visuals are appealing to kids.

To try out another Hot Dots item, we received the Hot Dots Tots Animals Interactive board book set. One thing I’ve noticed with Hot Dots books is that the items require parents to actively participate. Kids can’t entertain and teach themselves with the books if they can’t read yet. Having parents participating in the learning process is a positive thing. Prompting kids with the questions and allowing them to determine the answer lets them become more responsible for their learning.

The animals board book set was very age appropriate for my two year old daughter Georgiana. She enjoyed the two books, and she had a lot of fun using the musical teaching bear wand. Similar to the princess wand, the musical teaching bear wand using sound effects and visuals to indicate right and wrong answers. Georgiana has had trouble holding the other wands, but with the bear wand, she can get a better grip. When I asked the interactive questions, she was eager to discover the right answer.

To help engage my children in learning science, I received the GeoSafari Jr. Jungle Crew Lab Set. In the past, I’ve had great experiences with science toys from GeoSafari. Exposing my kids to science at a young age matters to me. I’d like my daughters to grow up with the confidence that they can succeed in any field that interests them. The test tubes have lids the shape of lions. On the flask, there was a rhino head. Other items were an elephant funnel, hippo tongs, a monkey eye dropper, and 10 activity cards. Using the set, my kids were inspired to make believe they were creating magical potions and coming up with the cure for the hiccups.

Educational Insights toys have held up incredibly well. With the company offering me many review opportunities in the past couple years, we’ve been very fortunate to fill our home with the toys. Using the toys, my kids get an educational experience that I appreciate. Every time the toys arrive, my children exclaim that the new toys are better than any other toy they own. Another great thing about trying out the toys is that I get to offer one lucky reader a bundle of all of the toys, worth over $100. Start the school year off right by adding these neat, educational toys to your home.
