If you’re looking for the latest Disney news, you’re in the right place! Our family loves Disney movies. This past week, when my family finished watching the Oscar nominations, one of my daughters celebrated that Zootopia had won. My other daughter had rooted for Moana, but was happy for any Disney movie to earn Best Animated Film. You can read all about our fun Oscar-themed party here. Today, Disney Pixar released the brand new teaser trailer for the upcoming animated movie Coco. While my family can’t always agree on Disney movies, we are always happy to watch them.
Disney Pixar Presents Coco
In the feature animated film Coco, you will learn about a boy named Miguel whose family’s generations-old ban on music has not changed his dream of becoming a musician. With a love of guitar, Miguel hopes to become like his idol, Ernesto de la Cruz (played by the voice of Benjamin Bratt). Along the way, Miguel ends up in the stunning and spectacular Land of the Dead, where he learns more about his ancestors.
New Trailer For Animated Movie Coco
Children with dreams of becoming musicians or artists can relate to this plot. Although it seems geared towards an older audience than many Disney movies are, the age group it is meant for can find the story meaningful and inspiring. Below, you can check out the trailer.
While my daughters usually get more into the stories of Disney princesses, they both hold a special place in their heart for music. Since their father and grandfather’s guitar collections captivate them, this story will be relatable and enjoyable to them. I love watching my children idolize the role models in their life (instead of professional musicians on television) for their ability to play guitar. This movie will inspire them to play and listen to music together more often.
The only part that I’m not sure will go over with all children is the Land of the Dead. My older daughter – who has learned about the Day of the Dead in her Spanish class – found the trailer interesting. She can’t wait to see the movie. My younger daughter was reluctant to see the scarier parts, and I could see her being especially scared in a movie theater. If you aren’t sure about the more mature elements, it may be better for older children.
Because the movie trailer shows the potential for an uplifting and exciting movie, I can’t wait to see it next fall. As an interesting side note, director Lee Unkrich and producer Darla K. Anderson worked together on 2010’s Oscar®- and Golden Globe®-winning feature Toy Story 3, which is the third highest-grossing animated feature in worldwide box office.
Pixar’s “Coco” opens in U.S. theaters on Nov. 22, 2017. You can like Coco on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

This looks like it’s going to be a cute movie. I will most likely be seeing this with my kids when it comes out.
Oh my gosh! I’m so excited! I’m obsessed with Disney!!!! I also wrote a post about a Disney movie for the Growing Social Media threads!
I love that it’s about music! My son and daughter might find this entertaining…
i haven’t heard of this new movie! Good i saw your post! my kids will definitely love this…looking forward to watching this with them!
This sounds like another inspiring and moving movie from Disney and Pixar. I’m sure my daughter will enjoy watching this especially since it involves music.
This looks like a cute movie from the trailer. I have always loved Pixar movies, they are brilliant. Steve Jobs did a good thing starting that company. One of my dreams is to tour Pixar studio, I bet it is a fun place to work at.
Coco is going to be a nice treat for my son over Thanksgiving break! He thinks he is Siskel or Ebert and has to see every Disney/Pixar film.
I can’t get enough of Disney/Pixar movies! So adorable.
This definitely looks right up our street! We hope it’s as good as Inside Out, love a good Pixar Classic
I am excited about the multicultural aspect of this film. I marked my calendar. I want to see this.
Cute movie! I still prefer the classics like lion king and lady and the tramp – but I am sure my 8 year old will enjoy this!
I love new disney movies! I can’t wait to see this one, it looks great, as most of them do 🙂
I am a big Disney fan! Love the review. Would surely see Coco! Like the character as well. 🙂
Coco looks like it’s going to be a really cute movie! My son is really into playing music and singing, so I think he’s going to enjoy this one. My whole family is musically talented. Except me, lol. It skipped me.
I have loved every Disney Pixar production so I can’t wait for this one to come out. My son loves music and wants to be an entertainer so I think e will love this one.
I saw this just the other day and I was intrigued. It reminds me a lot of the movie Book of Life. I wonder how Disney’s version will be. Pixar has advanced so much with their graphics so we shall see. I was a little iffy on the topic of afterlife beliefs as well. However, I want the children to understand other cultures. Disney/Pixar has a long standing of exploring diversity and I anticipate they will do well.
This bright movie looks like a lot of fun.
I think it would be nice to take my niece to it.
Disney and Pixar? Oh wow! I can tell this is going to be a great movie from the trailer. I can’t wait to see this.
Belle | One Awesome Momma
I got the press info for Coco too. I love it and think this will be a fun movie when this is released!
The preview doesn’t really tell you too much, but it is definitely enough to have me intrigued. Can’t wait to see this when it comes out. Pixar never fails to let me down.
I need to learn more about this movie. I just saw that it was coming out and my daughter watched the trailer.
This is the first time I am hearing of this movie! After watching the trailer I think my kids will really enjoy it!
This seems like such a cute movie, once it comes out I am going to take my little cousins to go see this.
I feel like any Pixar movie is going to be a hit. I would love to see this flick as I know my kids will too!
I am on the fence about this one. My daughter saw the preview for it when we went to see Beauty and the Beast and she wasn’t super into it (age 4). I know we will watch it because we watch all things Disney + Pixar but it isn’t one that I am counting down to see.
