If you are looking for a new vehicle that works well for families, you’re in the right place! Whether your plans involve a short road trip, a working vacation, or a staycation, the 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport is a great pick. Today on Theresa’s Reviews, I’m sharing how this vehicle worked for my family’s President’s Day staycation that we spent dog sitting.
2018 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport: A Great Car For A Dog Sitting, Snowy Day Staycation!
Although we didn’t go far for this staycation, this trip ended up being a fantastic vacation not far from home! Getting some surprise snow showers was one of the best parts.
Luckily, the 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport has a 4WD button that helps with driving on the slick roads. Driving felt safe, which matters when you’re on the road with two children! The car also did a great job of keeping us warm. With heated seats and automatic climate control, it was a comfortable ride! When the snow melted off the roof, we also enjoyed getting natural light with the large panoramic sun roof.
With snow everywhere, we stayed indoors most of the long weekend and enjoyed the view from a comfortable sofa. Pet sitting a Yorkie puppy was fun! You can read about our pet sitting adventure in 3 Pet Sitting Tips & ‘Lady and the Tramp’ Giveaway.
With safety in mind for my children, I was glad to see that the booster and car seat fit well. To anchor your car seat, you open the trunk and find the anchor below the seat.
Inside the trunk, you can find plenty of room for luggage. Although we weren’t carrying much with us for a three day staycation, my lighting equipment needed to come so we could work on some posts for my Instagram page over the long weekend. Since I don’t usually pack up the lighting kit and travel with it, I was relieved that everything fit! The lighting I ended up getting was great because I was able to travel with both umbrella lights.
Our whole trip wasn’t all social media work though! We had an awesome time cuddling up and watching movies, playing with the Yorkie puppy, and ordering good food. As we drove home, we enjoyed putting on happy music with our favorite SiriusXM station on the 7″ HD touchscreen display audio system.
I also drove it to work for a few days, and I got several compliments! Since driving on the Northeastern interstates can get hectic during rush hour, the Forward Collision Mitigation System was helpful. With stop-and-go traffic happening frequently, this feature means that the car warns when a vehicle or person is too close, and it can apply the brakes. Since driving can be one of the most stressful parts of the day, knowing that the drive was safer than usual was a relief.
With a 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport, you get a car that is durable enough for winter weather! Not only was the car great in the snow, but with the awesome panoramic sunroof, it was also a nice way to enjoy the rare warm days we’ve had lately. Whether you’re going on a snowy day road trip or taking a spring break vacation somewhere sunny, this car can work well for families!
