Recently, I opened my email and saw an invitation to visit Los Angeles for #PixarCocoEvent! This all expenses paid trip would take me to the red carpet premiere of Disney Pixar Coco. As a huge Disney fan, I took a minute before realizing what the words in front of me meant. This would be three days of writing, blogging, and learning about a movie I’m excited to see. This is an experience unlike anything I’ve ever done before. In my years of working in the movie industry from 2008 – 2014, I’ve never been to a red carpet premiere. I hope you follow along on this incredible adventure to Hollywood!
Follow Along 11/7 – 11/9 For The #PixarCocoEvent
From November 7th to November 9th, I will share this event in real time on social media. If you haven’t yet heard of the movie Coco, this will be a great way to learn more about it. The movie releases on November 22, 2017. When I return from Los Angeles, I look forward to taking my family to the movie release at our local movie theater. My children can’t wait to see it.
Seeing the United States premiere with 24 other bloggers is an excellent opportunity. Not only am I looking forward to the movie itself, but also getting to know the other bloggers. We will all be promoting the event on social media using the hashtag #PixarCocoEvent.
One of the most exciting parts of this experience will be walking the red carpet at the premiere. I will also take part in a press junket and interview TBD talent from the film.
Share questions you have for the filmmakers and talent of Coco with me on Twitter using #PixarCocoEvent and I’ll try to get answers for you! The interviews will be with Gael Garcia Bernal, Benjamin Bratt, Anthony Gonzalez, Alanna Ubach and director Lee Unkrich, writer & co-director Adrian Molina and Producer Darla K. Anderson, .
About The Movie Coco
Set in Mexico, the movie shares the story of a young boy, Miguel as he tries to learn more about his family. In the process of getting to know himself and follow his dreams, he must challenge the wishes of his well-meaning great grandmother.
Check out the recently released Mariachi Plaza clip to learn more about the great grandmother’s role in the movie.
Land Of The Dead
Through a series of events, Miguel ends up in the Land of the Dead. He must overcome challenges to return home.
The movie is heavily influenced by Mexican culture and the Day of the Dead festivities. It comes as no surprise that the filmmakers spent much time in Mexico to make the film authentic.
Learn more about the filmmaker’s research process in the recently released Crafting Coco clip.
One of the biggest themes of the movie is music. Miguel dreams of being a musician but must hide this dream from his family. The movie has a strong fantasy element, but many children (and adults) will be able to relate to the love of music that Miguel has.

On November 20th on Disney XD and Disney Channel, Baymax Returns airs. This TV movie begins the Big Hero 6: the Series television show that will air in early 2018.
Big Hero 6: The Series is based on Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Academy Award-winning feature film. The series will pick up immediately following the events of the feature film. Hiro, the 14-year-old tech genius, and his compassionate robot Baymax join their friends Wasabi, Honey Lemon, Go Go and Fred. Together they form the legendary superhero team Big Hero 6. They go on high-tech adventures and protect their city from scientifically enhanced villains.
