Tonight I had the most special mother daughter date. She still hasn’t grown out of princesses, thank goodness, even though her older sister encourages her to like all the coolest YouTube shows. We were invited to see an early screening of Frozen 2, which we had been anticipating for a very long time!

Frozen 2: Mom & Daughter Review

In Walt Disney Animation Studios’ “Frozen 2, Elsa encounters a Nokk—a mythical water spirit that takes the form of a horse—who uses the power of the ocean to guard the secrets of the forest. My Thoughts

After the movie, we worked on summarizing it together. Elsa wanted to follow a voice telling her to go to the Enchanted Forest, but when she did, it released the powers of nature. When disasters began to happen all around them, Elsa rushed in to the most dangerous situations, while uncovering major truths of her family’s history.

With Elsa running off to chase her freedom and uncover the past, this left Anna in charge. She acted as a valiant leader and proved her value to the Arendelle kingdom.

The movie had beautiful visuals and a complex plot that can interest adults. With characters that grow and change, the story left me wondering what would happen next in their lives.

QUEEN IDUNA loves her daughters Anna and Elsa and wants to protect them at all costs – especially from the secrets of her past. But as young Elsa’s powers and questions grow, she begins to wonder if her own past may hold the answers for her family. A Kid’s Opinion of Frozen 2

My daughter liked seeing her favorite characters again, but she was really confused about a lot of the major plot points. She didn’t understand why Elsa made a lot of her choices and how those choices had impacted those around her. I’m hoping not to give too much away here, but she walked away thinking that Elsa literally killed her parents, I think? Possibly by freezing them? It all seemed pretty confusing when we talked about afterwards.

She said the movie was super scary! We loved the dresses and can’t wait to buy the beautiful costumes, but wow did this movie become dark throughout the middle! She did think the beginning and ending were happy, but that was about it. Come on Disney, make us laugh and smile more next time!

That being said, she was the happiest girl in the world to wear her Frozen gown to a late night movie with mom, and we wouldn’t have changed a thing about the night!
