My home workspace has a rustic, modern farmhouse style. With a whitewashed brick fireplace, olive wood floors, and blue grey walls, there is plenty of natural lighting and comfortable seating. Adding a few seasonal items brightens up the space.
One item I was happy to add my own DIY touch to was this tabletop set. I used sprayable chalk paint in Shiplap to make the white match with the light colors in my home, and I added decorative spring flowers.
Originally, the tabletop piece was gold, which didn’t match my home decor. Now, with the shiplap white paint color, it fits my style, and it brings that light farmhouse look to my front entryway.
On my whitewashed fireplace mantle, I placed the black metal lantern. For a seasonal spring look, I added a candle and some flowers.
Usually, jackets and bags are tossed by the front entryway, but tidying up the clutter is the key to a refreshing workspace at home. To decorate and make this space look nicer, I hung the burlap tote next to a garden sign and a wreath of tulips.
In our Tuscan-inspired kitchen, I hung the chalkboard with the art magnets and art prints. This adds organization, and it can become a space for reminders, weekly menus, and invitations.
With the framed art print, I placed it in front of a distressed window frame next to a candle. It adds a nice pop of color to the room.
Working at home can be be easier to do if your space is clean and inspiring. Adding a few home decor pieces can help with organization, which can in turn help with productivity. Customizing decor to match your style and placing it in the most fitting place makes the work space easier to spend time in to help you get more work accomplished.
