Wonder Woman 1984

Even though the Wonder Woman movies can appeal to adults too, watching a female superhero is inspiring for kids! My daughters are such huge fans that the youngest even dressed like Wonder Woman for her kindergarten Halloween parade and she made a costume runway show with the superhero outfit.

Wonder Woman 1984 is a sequel to the 2017 superhero film Wonder Woman, which took in $822 million at the worldwide box office. Produced by Warner Bros. and DC Comics, the movie is directed by Patty Jenkins, who also directed Wonder Woman. Actress Gal Gadot returns as Diana Prince/Wonder Woman.

With a release date of June 5, 2020, in 2D and 3D in select theaters and IMAX, Wonder Woman 1984 will be distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures.

Check out the trailer below.

Fast forward to the 1980s as Wonder Woman’s next big screen adventure finds her facing two all-new foes: Max Lord and The Cheetah. The film also stars Chris Pine as Steve Trevor, Kristen Wiig as The Cheetah, Pedro Pascal as Max Lord, Robin Wright as Antiope, and Connie Nielsen as Hippolyta. Charles Roven, Deborah Snyder, Zack Snyder, Patty Jenkins, Gal Gadot and Stephen Jones are producing the film.

Joining the director behind the scenes are several members of her Wonder Woman team, including director of photography Matthew Jensen, Oscar-nominated production designer Aline Bonetto (Amélie), and Oscar-winning costume designer Lindy Hemming (Topsy-Turvy). Oscar-nominated editor Richard Pearson (United 93) is cutting the film. The music is by Oscar-winning composer Hans Zimmer (Dunkirk, The Lion King).

The One and Only Ivan

Based on a incredible book written by Katherine Applegate, The One and Only Ivan comes to theaters on August 14, 2020. The book is fictional, but it was inspired by a true story of Ivan, a western lowland gorilla who spent the majority of his life in an enclosure at the B&I Shopping Center in Tacoma, Washington. With an inspiring message about caring for animals, my daughter and I both enjoyed the book, and we’re looking forward to seeing this in theaters.

Directed by Thea Sharrock, the movie stars Angelina Jolie, Sam Rockwell, and Helen Mirren.

The story shows a gorilla named Ivan who tries to piece together his past with the help of an elephant named Stella as they hatch a plan to escape from captivity.

The Witches

Director Robert Zemeckis’ adaptation of Roald Dahl’s 1983 novel The Witches releases in theaters on Oct. 16, 2020. * This has now changed to a release date of October 22 on HBO Max.

With Oscar winner Anne Hathaway starring as the Grand High Witch, who was played by Anjelica Huston in the first adaptation of the novel in 1990, the movie also stars Stanley Tucci and Octavia Spencer.

Growing up, I enjoyed all the Roald Dahl books, so I’m excited to see how adaptation compares to the book.

This family-friendly adventure comedy story tells the scary, funny and imaginative tale of a seven year old boy who has a run in with some real life witches!
