Looking for amazing seafood? If you want fresh and delicious seafood but can’t get away to the ocean, you’re in the right place. Today on Theresa’s Reviews, I’m sharing our family outing to Hudson Coastal Raw Bar & Grille.
Hudson Coastal Raw Bar & Grille
Located in Fulton, Maryland in the Maple Lawn area, Hudson Coastal Raw Bar & Grille has friendly and accommodating service. You can find spacious booth seating available. Most importantly, the restaurant serves some of the best seafood I’ve had. With a variety of fresh lobster, crab and other Vital Choice seafood options on the menu (which is my favorite brand of seafood), we enjoyed sampling the delicious food on our weekend outing as a family.
Coastal Restaurant Decor
With attractive coastal decor, the restaurant has a bright and inviting ambiance. The decor reminded me of my most recent beach vacations to Chincoteague Island and Ocean City. Looking out from your seating area, you can conveniently check out the fresh catches on the screen.
Since the fresh-looking decor gave the restaurant a nice look, I was surprised to hear that Hudson Coastal Raw Bar & Grille opened about a year ago. If you live nearby, this is an excellent location for a family meal as well as a night out without children.
Seafood Appetizers
Putting in our appetizer order was an easy decision because everything sounded delicious. My mother in law and husband ordered a bowl of Maryland Crab Soup, which had an authentic crab taste with real crab in it and a creamy texture.
For a light appetizer, the ceviche can refresh your palette. With the bright citrus flavors of the lime marinated fish, this small dish was the perfect way to snack without filling up too much before dinner.
Since the calamari is a highlighted item on the menu, it’s well worth ordering. This dish has a nice light breading and a traditional marinara dipping sauce, while the remoulade sauce was also delicious.
Children’s Food Options
If you’re dining with children, you can find plenty of kid friendly options. All children’s meals are only $5 and come with a beverage and a scoop of ice cream. If your children like seafood, you can order Fish and Chips or Chase’s Fried Shrimp, while there are other non-seafood options, such as Mallory’s Cheese Pizza and Brice’s Chicken Fingers.
Since my children were excited to hear that wings were on the menu, they didn’t get a children’s meal, but ordered 1 lb. of Chicken Wings to share instead. The wings looked delicious!
With plenty of wings to eat, my children were very happy with their dining experience! Since the restaurant is owned by working parents, you can tell they put effort into helping younger guests enjoy dining here. Children will also enjoy snacking on Goldfish crackers before the meal arrives and taking a Swedish Fish candy to go at the end of the meal.
Main Entrees For Any Occasion
Next our main entrees arrived. With a generous portion of fish, the Fish and Chips had a nice breading and a fresh, healthy tasting broccoli carrot slaw on the side.
My dish was exactly what I was dreaming of when I made the reservations. As a Marylander, I couldn’t pass up a crab dish, but I also wanted something I don’t have too often. The Crab Imperial Stuffed Lobster Tail was perfect. With richly flavored crab and fresh lobster, it tasted incredible. Not only was the main dish fantastic, but the sides of spinach and sweet potato tater tots were also delicious.
Although my husband was looking at some of the more moderately priced dishes, I encouraged him to try the Filet Mignon paired with a 5-6 oz. lobster tail. With this Surf & Turf combination came mashed potatoes and Brussels sprouts. Whether you’re looking for a meal for a special occasion or dining out for the evening with your friends, this is an excellent selection.
Delicious Desserts
To end our meal, we each ordered a dessert to share. For a rich, chocolatey dish, order the Ultimate Chocolate Cake. With the plate having chocolate drizzled over it, you can fill each bite with the chocolate and get a bit of the ice cream on top. My daughters loved it. I’ve never seen them so satisfied with a meal before!
I ordered the Lemon Berry Mascarpone Cake, which had a fluffy cream frosting and delicious berries. With fluffy vanilla cake and a lemon flavor, it would pair well with an after dinner coffee.
If you love cheesecake, try the Limoncello Cheesecake with Pineapple Chutney and House Made Caramel Sauce. It was a fresh tasting cheesecake, and the pineapple and caramel worked really well together. The presentation of the plates looked nice, but it also added to the delicious flavor because you could dip each bite into the caramel.
We finished with the Mint Chocolate Chip Bread Pudding. This festive dish was the perfect end to a St. Patrick’s Day weekend.
From the appetizer to the dessert, everything we ordered at Hudson Coastal Raw Bar & Grille was delicious. We can’t wait to return again.
