Marvel’s Venom Releases with Bonus Features on Blu-ray and 4K UHD
Venom shares a captivating story of a young couple split up by the evil research of a scientific lab and the issues that ensue when the young journalist continues his search for truth and justice. With the dawn of a new age of space exploration, alien symbiosis has become a viable option for human survival.
While this romantic comedy adventure has a darker edge, the character Venom is a metaphor for the demons we fight every day of good and evil and that once we get our own demons under control they can fight for us in symbiosis.
To get the best visual experience, I watched it in 4K UHD with a 4K television and a 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray player. Several scenes showed up with vivid detail.
Cityscape scenes of San Francisco and Malaysia were crisp and beautiful with the night lights shining bright. Special effects of the liquid of the venom’s motion were especially clear. With the awesome action scenes, each spark, glisten of sweat off the lead actor’s face, and car crash flames in the chase scenes showed up very well.
Because of the violence and language, I would not recommend this for younger children.
Venom Bonus Materials
One of the best parts of the home release is the bonus material! Watching these offers great insight into the story behind the movie. - Ride to Hospital – Eddie and Venom take a ride to the hospital.
- Car Alarm – Let’s just say that Venom is not fond of car alarms.

- From Symbiote to Screen: A mini documentary about the history of Venom in comics and his journey to the big screen. Interviews with Avi Arad, Matt Tolmach, Ruben Fleischer, Oliver Scholl, and Director and Comic Fanboy Kevin Smith.
- The Lethal Protector in Action: Go behind the scenes with the production crew and learn the secrets behind the awesome Motorcycle stunts, wire stunts, and drones.
