7 Vacation Spots You’ll Love to Visit for Labor Day
Sarasota, Florida
As featured below, The Resort at Longboat Key Club offers a breathtaking view of the gorgeous beaches located on the west coast of Florida. Whether you spend the day golfing on the championship golf courses, playing tennis on one of 20 tennis courts, or visiting the spa, there’s plenty to do to unwind. This 410 acre resort has activities to keep the whole family happy. The kids will love Camp Loggerhead where they can do arts and crafts, attend a sports camp, and go on on-property excursions.
Hilton Head, South Carolina
Situated in Hilton Head, Marriott’s Grande Ocean provides its guests with private beach access. When the tide is low, the beach is very wide, which is ideal for long walks. Since this resort is located in the middle of Hilton Head, guests can bike to most places on the island. All together, the resort has eight pools, including an outdoor pool with a beach view, nine whirlpool spas, and three children’s pools. If you invite guests or have a family reunion, you can stay in a two bedroom, two bathroom villa for a spacious, relaxing stay.
Sandpiper Bay, Florida
Located two hours north of Miami in Sandpiper Bay, Florida, the all-inclusive Club Med Sandpiper Resort offers relaxing and exciting activities for the whole family. You can take part in tennis and beach volleyball, while being led by world class instructors. For more adventurous activities, go horseback riding, mountain biking, waterskiing, and wakeboarding, or you can even go on a flying trapeze! This resort is not only excellent for active families, but it also has the luxurious Club Med Spa by L’Occitane where you can pamper yourself with spa treatments.
Laguna Beach, CA
Stay walking distance from the beach and only a short drive from Disneyland® Resort at La Casa del Camino Hotel in Laguna Beach, CA. You can book one of the elegant Spanish-style guest rooms or a more quirky surf-inspired room. On the rooftop, you can dine and take in the beautiful view of the Pacific Ocean. Head out for a day of surfing, snorkeling, and scuba diving in this beautiful Southern California vacation destination. Laguna Beach has over 30 beaches and coves to enjoy during your stay.
Fort Lauderdale, Florida
To enjoy the oceanfront views without leaving your hotel room, stay at the chic W Fort Lauderdale Beach Hotel. Not only is there an excellent fitness center, but you can also take part in beach bootcamp and sunrise yoga on the seaside. If you head to the beach, you can conveniently order food from the hotel’s Beach Bites menu. When you head to the rooftop pool, you can lounge, work on your tan, and enjoy the spectacular view of the ocean. This resort is only walking distance from downtown Fort Lauderdale.
Bucks County, Pennsylvania
For a simple vacation only a road trip away on the east coast, visit Bucks County, PA. This kid-friendly vacation spot is home to Sesame Place, where you can visit rides, see shows, and stay until night to see the Labor Day weekend fireworks. Next, for a delicious meal, dine at the Washington House Restaurant for Labor Day specials for burgers, braised short ribs, jumbo lump crab cakes, and more. Some of the fun activities you can do to unwind are tubing and kayaking down the Delaware River, watching a live show at the Bucks County Playhouse, and riding on the New Hope & Ivyland Railroad.
Asheville, North Carolina
Last, a visit to Asheville, North Carolina offers delicious food, spectacular views, and unique activities. Whether you are visiting the Tupelo Honey Cafe in downtown Asheville (which I recently did, as you can see on my Instagram page) or dining in the historic Biltmore village, there is a huge variety of restaurants with tasty southern food, vegetarian meals, and all types of cuisines.
Nestled in the Appalachian Mountains, the Omni Grove Park Inn has a 43,000 square foot subterranean spa, a sports complex, and two retail promenades. This inn is beautiful at Christmas time, but it is also an amazing place to stay for Labor Day weekend. The mountain view is breathtaking. Some activities you can take part in include history tours, white water rafting, kayaking, tennis, and golf.
One of the most unique resort activities at the Grove Park Inn is the Wild Food Foraging Adventure. Led by No Taste Like Home, you would explore the beautiful mountainside as you forage for edible varieties of mushrooms and other plants. There’s nothing quite like enjoying a meal made with fresh food that you picked from nature. After your expedition, deliver what you found to the front desk at the Grove Park Inn for the Chef de Cuisine of Vue 1913, James Lumley to provide a complimentary appetizer with your ingredients.

Great suggestions! I would love to go back to that cute town of Asheville. Sarasota sounds nice too and it’s a lot closer for me.
Great list! I haven’t heard of Sandpiper Bay, FL – it looks really nice! My parents live that way so I may have to check it out!
I love hilton head! We go to Kiawah pretty often!
The blue mushroom pic is so cool. Such lovely pics. I’d love to check out Laguna Beach. Never have been to Cali. On my bucket list for sure.
It would be so hard to decide between all of these. I’ve been to Asheville but was rushed so I’d really go back for a proper visit.
Hilton Head is one of my most favorite places to visit!
I love all of these places. I have been to Fr Lauderdale and Laguna Beach both are so much fun, different, and unique. What I would give to be near a beach right now! 😉 Thanks for sharing.
Hilton Head is absolutely stunning! I have been to Charleston and of course we had to visit Hilton Head while there…I would love to make it my actual vacation destination for next time!

Southern And Style
My family and I have no Labor Day weekend plans as of currently. It’s hard to believe it’s just around the corner and that summer is so close to ending already! All of these places look amazing.
Wow – thank you for this!! I really need to beef up on our vacations. We haven’t been on one in years. These are awesome suggestions!
I’ve never been to Sarasota, but I feel like I’ve seen it in so many places lately! Maybe it’s a sign we need to go. Thanks for sharing this list!
I didn’t plan a Labor Day getaway this year (like I usually do) because we are having my daughter’s 4th birthday party that weekend. With that said, normally we would be making a trip north to Erie, PA, for a last nice weekend on the lake before things get crazy with pre-school and fall holidays. We love it there. You need to check it out. Bet it would make your list too!
They all look great…I was thinking of maybe going to Maine because it is driving distance from my house. Love the beach spots your chose.
These are great suggestions! I haven’t been to many of these locations (we usually travel to the North East), but the pictures look beautiful so maybe I will have to check them out!
I totally want to visit these places! Looks so amazing and fun!!! Thank you for this list!
This looks beautiful! A must visit for sure.

I would love to go to all of these places especially North Carolina. I’ve been once and it’s so beautiful there. But, this year I’ll be spending labor day at home. I’ll keep these vacation spots on mind for next year for sure 😉
I would gladly go to any of these! Asheville has been on my list for a while. I’d love to visit. And I hear it’s a pretty dog-friendly city which is a must. Can’t leave my baby behind 🙂
These all look wonderful! I only wish I lived closer so that I could actually go. The closest one to me is Laguna Beach and even that is a 10 hour drive. Oh well, I guess I’ll have to settle for something a little closer to home. 🙂
Be realistic. Prices for holiday weekends like Labor Day are going to be more expensive than other weekends during the summer months. When you find a good fare, be ready to buy. There are often only a handful of seats available at the best rates and they get snapped up quickly.
