Steelfire Kitchen & Bar in Fulton, Maryland
Visiting Steelfire Kitchen & Bar on a sunny spring day was the perfect way to check it out for the first time! With a main room that opens up with large glass doors to an open-air patio overlooking a field where children can play, this was a pleasant and relaxing dining experience.
Since you can watch the game on the televisions in the restaurant, it would be a fun place to go with friends. As a neighborhood sports bar, there are plans for the lawn outside to feature live music, which should attract a good crowd this summer.
Inside, the restaurant has modern decor with metallic accents, which goes along with the name Steelfire. The modern decor gives the restaurant a more chic appearance than your typical sports bar.
Even on a busy day, we were able to get a comfortable booth where we could enjoy the sun from the window. We enjoyed the ambient lighting and natural light from the large windows.
Appetizers at Steelfire Kitchen & Bar
With perfectly crispy chicken wings that were still tender, my children were delighted with the meal. Since they love wings, this was perfect for them. I’ve had some wings that aren’t crispy enough, but these ones were just right.
One of the most original appetizers was the deviled eggs, which were made with spiced pecans and served with sugar cured bacon. You can tear off a piece of bacon and wrap it around the egg for a delicious and unexpected taste.
My favorite appetizer was the Firecracker Shrimp. Served crispy with spicy aioli, this dish is more flavorful than a lot of shrimp that I’ve had. The sauce had just the right amount of spice that wasn’t over powerful but enough to stimulate the senses. To make the shrimp easier to eat as an appetizer, it came peeled.
My children also loved the chicken tenders, which were hand battered but not overly breaded. They also said that the fries tasted fresh and had just the right amount of salt and crispiness.
Main Dishes at Steelfire Kitchen & Bar
Since the burgers are a major highlight of the menu, we ordered several. Made with local meat, the burgers are ground in the restaurant with a custom mixture of chuck, short rib, and brisket. They taste incredibly fresh. My favorite was the Ghost burger, which was served with pepperjack cheese, jalapeño bacon, grilled jalapeño peppers, and a ghost chili sauce made with ghost peppers. This was just the right amount of spice without being overbearing.
My husband enjoyed the Boursin Bacon burger. With a combination of bourbon onions and applewood smoked bacon, the burger also had a tasty garlic and herb boursin cheese. The combination of cheese, bacon, and onions is such a classic, and he liked that this was a unique take on it.
With the Texas burger, you can really taste the freshness of the combination of meats. Since the chili topping had a nice mellow flavor, it would be tasty as a side dish too.
If you’re looking for something other than burgers, you can also order tacos. I ordered three Short Rib Tacos, which had very tender meat, a tasty sauce, and crispy onions that added a nice texture to the dish.
Dessert at Steelfire Kitchen & Bar
Each of us ordered a delectable handmade milkshake. With the Shake It Like Elvis! milkshake, you get the rich flavor of Ghiradelli chocolate, creamy peanut butter, banana and walnuts. My favorite was the Sweet & Salty, which had sweet caramel and a salty flavor that was not overpowering. Both of my daughters enjoyed their milkshakes with the Brookie-Cookie made from crushed Oreo cookies and the Nutella & Chocolate Covered Pretzels milkshake.
Whether you are looking for a quick bite to eat, a spacious open-air dining experience, or a unique and delicious burger, you can find it when you stop by and check out Steelfire Kitchen & Bar.
