Last week, my daughter held her outdoor American Girl Wellie Wisher Garden Party for her 7th birthday. Since the Wellie Wishers are known as being sweet and silly friends who play, this theme was ideal for a small group of friends. Featured today on Theresa’s Reviews, you can check out tips for this simple and adorable party theme.
Harris Teeter decorated the chocolate cake with pink flowers and light green frosting. For the cake topper, I used the Mega Construx Wellie Wishers Garden Theater Emerson Buildable Playset.
As birthday gifts, my daughter received the WellieWishers Garden Wagon, the Cute As A Bug Gardening Outfit, and Shimmering Butterfly Outfit.
The dolls helped make a festive party display, while it was also nice to have the dolls out in case anyone needed a loaner doll for the party.
My mother, who was in town visiting, helped make an adorable bunny vegetable plate. You can make it with any veggies you have in your home.
She used tomatoes for the eyes, an olive for a nose, and celery for whiskers, and she cut a paper plate to make the ears.
Dolls were served imaginary food with American Girl Crafts Doll Size Plates, Cups, and Placemats. Since these are made of paper, they won’t last after using real food or beverages on them. One of the most popular activities included making giant bubbles, which entertained the guests for most of the party, although they also played a ring toss game, decorated a cardboard dollhouse, and played pin the tail on the fox.
My mother and I made flower crowns for the children to wear out of artificial rose flower vines. The vines also brought spring inspiration to my home decor.
Inside the goody bags, guests discovered Butterfly Charms for Girls, the Willa’s Wilderness Campout book, a bookmark and a thank you postcard.
Our Wellie Wisher Garden Party was a magical, beautiful event that inspired outdoor play and friendship! After, the grandparents helped my children design a real garden in our yard. We look forward to seeing flowers and vegetables start to grow soon.
