When you’re choosing a camp, it is most convenient to choose one located near you. Whether you are looking for camps in the Baltimore area, DC or the Eastern Shore, these camps offer excellent learning opportunities.

Name of Camp: Camp MSC
Age Range: 4-13
Description: Maryland Science Center offers summer camp programming in July and August for children ages 4-13. Choose from week-long full day and half day programs. Extended care options available with early drop-off and late pick-up. This summer, get science!
Price: Full Day: $380 per child per session; $365 for members, Half Day: $220 per child per session; $205 for members; Extended care packages available

Name of Camp: Smithsonian Summer Camp
Age range: K-9
Description: During summer camp, kids explore, discover, create and go behind the scenes at the Smithsonian. Campers can blast into space, take center stage, create a masterpiece, invent a fantasy world, relive history or learn to shape the future of the planet. The rich and exciting world of the Smithsonian is theirs to discover.
Price: Price Prices for weeklong summer camps are $460 for non-members and $395 for Smithsonian Associates members. There will be no camp Wednesday, July 4. Prices for summer camp Monday, July 2 through Friday, July 6, are $368 for non-members and $316 for Smithsonian Associates members. Two-week intensive camps range from $460 to $920 for non-members and $395 to $790 for Smithsonian Associates members; campers can customize their experience, registering for a single week of select two-week camps.

Name of Camp: Notre Dame of Maryland STEM Camp
Age range: K-8
Description: Notre Dame’s STEM summer camp is designed to help children entering grades K-8 expand their budding interests in science, technology, engineering and math. Each day, campers will be introduced to a new STEM concept and will participate in hands-on learning with instructors from the NDMU STEM Leadership program. But it’s not all science—there is also time for swimming, team building, crafts and lunch!This year, the camp will be July 16th-20th. Camp is from 8:30am-5:30pm.
Price: $600 for the week. $550 if register before April 1st.

Name of Camp: Mind, Body, Coding Camp by HowGirlsCode and UMBC
Age Range: Girls entering grade 3-9
Description: At Mind, Body, Coding Camp, girls challenge their minds through coding and robotics, as well as nurture their bodies and wellbeing through yoga, meditation, and self-empowerment exercises. Each day girls will enjoy programming classes, hands-on robotics sessions, yoga instruction, engaging guest speakers, and tours of the UMBC campus.

Nature Camps
Name of Camp: Howard County Conservancy’s Nature Day Camp
Age Range: Ages 5-12
Description: This camp inspires children to connect to nature through investigations, hikes, interpretive activities, arts and crafts, engineering design challenges and more! Sneak through the forest to find animals unaware, jump from puddle to puddle like a frog, learn about soil through mud tie-dying, and get your hands dirty exploring the great outdoors! Each day of camp provides opportunities for campers to be rooted in nature. Explore, play, design, hike and have a wild summer!

Name of Camp: Cromwell Valley Park Nature Camp
Age Range: 4 to 13 years
Description: Stroll through the stream, dig in the garden and explore the meadows and forest trails of the Lime Kiln Valley at Cromwell Valley Park. Children will meet and learn about animals, both wild and domesticated, enjoy children’s garden activities and receive an abundance of outdoor knowledge that includes ecology and natural history. All of the week’s activities will be geared to the age range of the children. No two seasons at CVP Summer Camp are alike!
Baltimore County Department of Recreation and Parks self regulates their summer camps and meets the regulations, requirements, and standards of a Maryland COMAR certified camp.

Name of Camp: KIDS FIRST Swim Schools
Age range: 2 months – Adults
Description: KIDS FIRST Swim Schools are the world’s largest provider of children’s swimming instruction, operating 35 locations across 5 states, teaching over 150,000 students annually.

Sailing Camps
Name of Camp: PHLAS Sailing Camp (Planet Hope Land And Sea)
Age range: 5-7 Mini Mariners, 8-14 Youth Dinghy, 14-17 Teen Cruising Camp
Description: Our youth program is geared to teach sailing to kids of all ages and experience levels. Taught by our experienced staff, your child will learn to sail on the Chesapeake Bay in our 9’-12’ Topaz Dinghies.
Price: $279 for Mini Mariners, $449 for Youth Dinghy and $1125 for Teen Cruising Camp

Name of Camp: Kids Set Sail
Age range: 7-15
Description: DC Sail has shared the beauty of sail and on-the-water experience with hundreds of DC area youth since the program commenced. Kids Set Sail serves as our longest running Youth Sailing Program at DC Sail. During the week-long summer camp, the young sailors are provided with instruction on how to sail a boat, coupled with strong STEM curriculum, allowing each participant to rotate through the skipper and crew positions. The 4:1 ratio of campers to counselor on board the boat provides excellent hands-on experience.
No previous sailing experience is required. DC Sail is a US SAILING Sanctioned Community Sailing Center.
Price: $350 (Scholarships are available for families with a verified household income of less than $50,000/year.)
