We are BEARY excited that on March 15, 2019, Paramount Pictures newest children’s movie ‘Wonder Park’ is released in theaters nationwide! This movie tells the story of a girl who builds an incredible amusement park in her imagination with her mom, with real blue prints and everything! While I don’t want to share story spoilers, today on Theresa’s Reviews I wanted to share whether I think ‘Wonder Park’ is kid-friendly.
Is ‘Wonder Park’ Kid Friendly?
It was pretty hard to tell from the short synopsis what the movie would be about. The official Paramount synopsis says that Wonder Park tells the story of a magnificent amusement park where the imagination of a wildly creative girl named June comes alive. From this and from the commercials, I wasn’t really sure what it would be about.
We brought along one of my daughter’s friends so we ended up getting even more feedback on the movie! Having talked with them afterwards, we all agreed that the movie got about a 7 or 8 out of 10. Check out a kids review of Wonder Park in the video below from The Sammie and Georgie Show!
Since the movie is rated PG, you can expect some sadness, but we all really weren’t sure what was going on during the movie! That made everything seem too intense
The movie was headed in a way too sad direction, and in the middle, I didn’t know if something devastating happened or not. In the end, the situation turned out okay. That was after I had spent the whole movie wondering why something so bad would happen in a kids’ movie. Some of the writing could have been clearer in explaining what was going on, or the creators could have chosen a less sad event to happen!
Another thing is that the movie was too scary for my five year old daughter. She was scared during the movie because a few of the characters were frightening, and the very, very sad main conflict was also scary for children under age seven.
That being said, we all had a really good time going out to see this movie! Several of the characters were funny, like the bear. Also there was a creative element with building the amusement park and seeing it come to life, which might inspire us to try something similar at home!
There were also several good actors in the cast including Jennifer Garner, Matthew Broderick, John Oliver, Mila Kunis, Kenan Thompson, Ken Jeong, Norbert Leo Butz, Brianna Denski and Ken Hudson Campbell.

This movie looks very interesting.
My daughter is 4 and does not seem to mind scary things yet. She would probably enjoy the movie.
Wow, I hadn’t even heard of this movie. Thank you for the great review. I’ll be looking for it now.
