If you’re preparing to have your first child, setting up your baby registry is important to do. Many products new mothers register for sound interesting but are not essential. You should register for items you need and include big ticket, high quality items on your registry as well as less expensive items. On your baby shower, friends and family will show their generosity, and they appreciate knowing what you would like.

10 Must Have Baby Products

As a mom of two children under age seven, I picked out ten items that I wish I had registered for when I had my first. You can buy all of these items from Baby Cubby, an online and retail company that price matches to offer you the best deals on the safest products.

  1. BOB 2016 Revolution Flex Jogging Stroller – Buy a high quality stroller that will last. Even though the BOB strollers are heavier than some other models, they are perfect for the light to moderate exercise you should get after having a baby. When you are inside with a baby all day and night, getting outside offers excellent stress relief.

  3. Ergobaby Organic Collection Carrier – When you want to go out for the day, a high quality carrier can be the best way to walk with your infant. Rather than figuring out a complicated wrap, stick with a simple carrier. With organic fabric, this item will feel soft to help keep your baby comfortable.

  4. Petunia Pickle Bottom Downtown Tote – While diaper bags are necessities, choosing the right one can be difficult. For a practical and stylish choice, buy a neutral tote bag. Since the colors are classic, this item will look nice long after your children are done wearing diapers.

  5. Aden + Anais Bamboo Dream Blanket In Moonlight – Since babies always need an extra layer, a nice blanket is good for any weather. The Dream Blanket is incredibly soft, and it’s big enough that your child can keep it for years to come. We have two of these blankets, and we adore them!

    Less Expensive Items

  7. BabyLit Primer Book Secret Garden – From publisher Gibbs Smith, the Baby Lit collection is adorable. One thing I noticed at my baby shower was that friends wanted to buy me baby books, but they didn’t know a lot about how to pick out high quality children’s literature. Show your child your your favorite books, such as The Secret Garden, with durable board books that will last.
  8. BabyLit Wizard of Oz  – Another delightful book from the series is The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. With beautiful, bright colors and fun characters, your child will be attracted to the pages of the book.

I LOVE that Downtown tote! Back in the day, all the diaper bags screamed NEW MOM, NEW MOM. I would so rather have had something stylish like that.

Great list! I would also add a humidifier. It comes in handy when your child is sick.

I totally agree about finding a nice stroller that will last! We bought our first stroller used and with our second coming along I did a lot more research. Our new stroller will last is through all our kids!

It sounds like a great store. Even though we’re mostly passed the baby stage, I still would love those books. I also love Petunia Pickle Bottom.

We use many of these products! We love our BOB, and now we have a double BOB, too! One thing I would suggest to new parents is to not buy pacifiers until after Baby is born. Some babies don’t take pacifiers, and sometimes they’ll only take a certain brand. My son will only take MAM pacifiers. I had to throw out several that we tried and he wouldn’t use!

Baby carriers are so important! I wasn’t into the big strollers because they’re hard to navigate doorways and fit into cars. Perfect if you’re just taking a walk, though.

I loved my Ergo! I had a couple different carriers but I always seemed to go straight to the Ergo (unless it was crazy hot outside, then I used my ring sling!) To each their own when it comes to carriers though. There are so many different options!
