You shouldn’t give in to your temptations just yet. Although it is easy to fall into a rut when winter approaches, you should fall into fitness with a smart scale. 3 Reasons A Smart Scale Can Help Your Health To stay on track with your fitness goals, a smart scale helps in many different ways. With app integration, cardiovascular health monitoring, information about the weather, and more, smart scales give you a good incentive to stay fit. 1.) Stay up to date with an app that syncs to your scale. In order to best analyze your health and well being from the comfort of your home, you can use the many different functions that a smart scale has. As an example, I tried out the Withings Body Cardio Scale, which syncs to the Withings Health Mate app. Getting the app set up was really simple. When the app connects to the scale, you have immediate access to the data that the scale records. Every day you weigh in, the app records the weight. You can check out a graph of how your weight is fluctuating or changing over time. You also get information about your fat mass, which is a helpful bit of information about whether your body composition is healthy or not. Some other information that the app provides is your pulse wave velocity. This helps you understand your cardiovascular health. After all, health isn’t just about your weight, but also about exercising enough to keep your heart healthy. Every time you get on the scale, you get an individual reading on the app. Later, you can scroll back through the readings to see how much improvement you have made. Checking out your progress is a great incentive to keep going. 2.) You can get your whole family on board. As many as eight people can become users and have their weight and health recorded separately. Since your family members can manage their data independently, you can work together to focus on healthy living goals. Sharing goals as a family can help you be more successful in following through with your plans. 3.) You can focus on overall health, not just weight. With a smart scale, you can go beyond thinking about the number on the scale to look at the bigger picture. When you look at information about your cardiovascular health, you get information about your heart, including your Pulse Wave velocity, which looks at overall cardiovascular health. If you look at your Pulse Wave velocity reading, you learn more about how healthy your arteries are and whether your arteries are becoming stiff. The stiffer your arteries are, the faster your heart is beating, and the higher risk you have of developing cardiovascular disease and hypertension. Being aware of how healthy your heart is can inspire you to work out more regularly. 4.) With updates on the weather, you can make a workout plan in advance. Each time you get on your scale, you get an instant update about the daily weather in your area. This helps tremendously with planning your workout routine. You can make plans early in the day about whether you should run outside or visit the gym. Another nice thing about getting the weather reading is that it gives you a reason to get on the scale. If you get in the routine of getting an update about the weather on the scale, you weigh yourself more regularly. As an incentive, you also know how you should dress that day. When you see the temperature and get an idea of whether it will rain first thing in the morning, you know whether to dress in layers or not. Whether you have goals for your weight or your overall health, a smart scale can help tremendously. Gain a better sense of your health trends, and make better goals by getting your whole family on board. Even as the weather changes and the holiday seasons lead you to stay indoors, get cozy, and snack, you can keep your fitness on track throughout the winter with a nice smart scale, the Withings Body Cardio Scale.
