It’s finally the Fourth of July! Last week, I shared my family’s pre-Fourth of July party when we spent a day outside wearing red, white, and blue, listening to great music, and grilling delicious food. Now that the Fourth of July holiday is here, the clouds and rain have been threatening to ruin our summer grilling party, but with careful timing we made the most delicious meal. Since today’s food was so tasty, I am going to share my experience of collaborating with Lowe’s Home Improvement to find the perfect grill for the Fourth of July.
Summer Grilling With Lowe’s Home Improvement
When I put out a request to find the best party supplies for the Fourth of July, I had no idea I would get such an amazing collaboration opportunity. Lowe’s contacted me directly asking if I would be interested in shopping in their local store with a $500 budget! I decided this would be a more than generous amount to find the perfect grill. I had considered getting a grill for about seven years, but I had always come up with reasons to put off the purchase. With such a huge donation, buying a grill finally made sense.
Initially I considered buying the grill when Ryan was at work. I thought it would be fun to surprise him, even if it meant having two kids in tow while I selected the grill. To narrow down my selection, I called the Lowe’s where I was going to shop. Speaking with the grill department was very useful. The person in that department asked me how many people we would be cooking for, and he immediately had two suggestions that fit my budget exactly. I was impressed with how knowledgeable the people working there were.
Since this was such a big decision, I decided it would be better to include Ryan in selecting the right grill. Ryan and I went to the store to double check that the grill I was considering was the best choice. We thought about buying a less expensive Weber and using the remainder of the budget on the propane. As I closely examined the grill that the person in the grill department recommended, I realized how high quality it was. The lid felt much more sturdy, and I could tell that the grill would hold more food than the less expensive model.
We had an amazing summer grilling experience during our pre-Fourth of July party. We loved using the grill! I loved having such beautiful, high quality outdoor cooking equipment. After we had the propane tank connected, it was simple to get the grill started. Working with a propane tank was new to us though, and we wanted to make sure we did it right. Ryan did some preliminary tests to make sure that the propane wasn’t leaking. We also double checked that the propane tank connected well to the grill. Then, it was easy to fire up the grill!
One of the best features of the Weber Spirit E-310 was that it has three burners. This makes it easier to heat up more food, so you can get more cooking done. Since we are a family of four and occasionally have guests over, the three burner grill was the perfect size for us.
My husband had such a good time cooking on this grill that he even surprised me by grilling pork chops for me mid-week when I had the kids out late. I loved how enthusiastic the grill made him about cooking! Since the grill worked so well, it was easy to use frequently.
This model of grill is the perfect item for summer grilling. You can easily move it as needed. We decided to store it inside and grill in the front yard, which saved us a few dollars on the grill cover. This method has worked out well for us. I did check with Weber’s customer service though, and if it rained today, they absolutely do not recommend grilling inside an open garage. Good to know! Luckily for us, the rain came after our meal was done.
This summer, there are so many delicious meals we can grill, and we’re excited to try out new recipes! Even the simplest of items, like the bun of a hamburger, taste better grilled. I’m excited to try out grilled corn and kebobs of different varieties. Grilling is a fun summer activity that gets the whole family outside together, while enjoying tasty food.
Today, on the Fourth of July, we had the best time grilling outside while the kids played. Family was over, and the neighbors were outside too. The kids played with sparklers and brought their toys in the yard. Ryan enjoyed having company while he cooked. I loved getting to spend time together. This was one of the best holidays we’ve had in a long time! Check out my delicious plate.
I’m looking forward to this evening. I’m hoping that even though they’re calling for rain, we might catch the occasional fireworks display. How was your Fourth of July? Share details in the comments!

I received a free item, but it in no way influenced my opinion!
One of the reasons why we love this awesome season! Thanks for sharing it 🙂
Absolutely, it’s the best time of the year! I love the warm weather and getting outside, and grilling makes it even better!
This would make a perfect gift for my uncle!!
Grilling is the best! And a good grill is key!
Absolutely, it makes such a huge difference!
That’s so cool that Lowe’s gave you such a generous gift, especially since you’ve been looking for one for a while now. Glad you like it and got to put it to good use for the perfect holiday!!!! Great post =]
P.S. we use the same theme!
Thanks, yes, it was a very cool opportunity! Hope your 4th of July went well.
This is definitely making me want to BBQ! I love that it has three burners cause we like to cook chicken or burgers at the same time as a veggie grill basket, so this would be perfect for that!
Yum, that sounds so good! We haven’t tried grilled veggies yet, and I can’t wait!
I WANT a new grill, but I know with our busy schedule we probably even get to grill out this summer, so I may wait until next year.
I love my hamburger buns grilled and grilled chicken legs and wings are my favorite! Does this grill have a side burner?
What a great way to celebrate the 4th of July and make memories with the family. Thanks for the tip on not grilling in the garage – you may have just saved me from causing a catastrophe! Happy Summer, and Happy Grilling! 🙂
Our fireworks were canceled (until September!!) because of rain but we were still able to have a cookout, thankfully!
What a great opportunity for you! I love shopping at Lowe’s — the staff are always helpful (and I always need help)! What a great grill to welcome the summer season!
That grill looks awesome. Nice photos.
WHOA! We need one of those for sure!!
I have a weber, slightly different model. Would hate to live without it! Fabulous investment. Stays looking like new when you remember to keep the cover on.
Everyone likes something cooked on the grill.
We have a Weber and we bought it at Lowe’s! It’s seriously the best of the best when it comes to grills.
How awesome! My husband LOVES grilling (rain or shine). We go with “the green egg,” as he calls it to do our grilling and smoking!
