When I was a child, A Wrinkle In Time was one of my favorite books. I couldn’t put the book down, and I was excited that the story continued with several other amazing books by the same author. Again and again, I reread the books and fell in love with the story.

Years later in graduate school, I reread the book for a children’s literature class. While getting ready for class, I came across a 2003 film adaptation of the book on Netflix. I couldn’t believe how awful it was! When we discussed the book in class, I remember saying how much I wished they would remake the movie. The first film adaptation didn’t do the book justice.

Now, I’m so excited that Disney is making a movie adaptation that looks incredible. With talent that includes Oprah Winfrey, Reese Witherspoon, Mindy Kaling, and a rising starlet Storm Reid, 94% of Rotten Tomatoes users want to see it.

About A Wrinkle In Time

From visionary director Ava DuVernay comes Disney’s “A Wrinkle in Time,” an epic adventure based on Madeleine L’Engle’s timeless classic which takes audiences across dimensions of time and space, examining the nature of darkness versus light and, ultimately, the triumph of love. Through one girl’s transformative journey led by three celestial guides, we discover that strength comes from embracing one’s individuality and that the best way to triumph over fear is to travel by one’s own light.
