My daughters squealed with delight when I opened the package to reveal their new outfits from Shrimp and Grits Kids clothing company. With a girly style and a luxuriously soft fabric, the dresses were appealing. As I’ve previously reviewed children’s clothing from around the world, my children often get complimented on their outfits. For Georgiana, my younger girl, I chose the Owl Bishop dress. Samantha, my older daughter, received the Snowy Swan Bishop. Reviewing the company’s clothes taught me about the sizing, shape and fit of the smocked dresses.

Shrimp and Grits Kids Clothing Review

On Georgiana, the dress looked lovely. The long dress flowed down her legs and arms. For Christmas photos, the dress had a Southern style and charm that gave the pictures a proper, formal, yet playful look. Overall, the fit was good. The length was appropriate for my daughter’s height, even though she’s a little short for her age. At first, Georgiana wasn’t sure about the arms because the length was almost long for her, although she got more comfortable the longer she wore the item.

Paired with boots, the pink dress looked really cute. Because the dress was soft and comfortable, Georgiana wore it to lounge around the house as well as in church. As a practical shopper, I liked that the dress was versatile. While the look of the dress was formal in photos, it had a loose-fitting style. The lush fabric and comfortable fit made the dress perfect for a cozy night in by the fireplace.

Another dress we tried was Samantha’s blue Snowy Swan Bishop style. I liked the dress because the swans had an elegance that fit well with the holiday season. Before ordering, I had really wanted two long sleeve dresses so the girls would match. After trying out the dresses, I discovered that the short sleeve style was preferable to my daughters. Because Georgiana seemed flustered with trying to keep her arms in the long sleeve style, the short sleeve style seemed more practical for kids to wear while playing.

During Christmas preparation, my daughters loved wearing their dresses. As we decorated the house and watched Christmas movies, the dresses made my daughters so happy. The dresses were a great gift to give for no reason. Both girls were ecstatic. For the whole day, the girls wore smiles.

Adding a soft, girly look to my daughters’ wardrobes, the dresses were ideal for the festive holiday season. Even though I mainly wanted to get the dresses for Christmas Eve and Christmas morning pictures, the soft, pastel coloring would also work throughout the year.
