Pumpkin-Shaped Cheese Ball

Pumpkin-Shaped Cheese Ball

If you are looking for a simple, festive Halloween appetizer, you are in the right place! This pumpkin-shaped cheese ball recipe uses only a few main ingredients. My children had a fun time putting it together with me, and we can’t wait to serve it at our family Halloween party.

Pumpkin-Shaped Cheese Ball

Ingredients

  • Cheez-Its
  • 2 packages cream cheese
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • Garlic powder
  • 2 pieces pre-cooked bacon, crumbled
  • Pretzels
  • Parsley

Directions

In a medium bowl, mix together the cream cheese, sour cream, and garlic. Make sure not to microwave the cream cheese to soften it since you will need the cheese ball to harden into a pumpkin shape when you are ready to serve it.

When everything is fully combined, add in the pre-cooked bacon, and stir with a large spoon.

Place the mixture into a large piece of plastic wrap. Twist the end of the plastic wrap to keep it from leaking. Shape it into a ball, and place either into the refrigerator or freezer to harden. Don’t allow it to freeze.

While the cream cheese mixture cools, take a cup of Cheez-Its, and place inside a plastic bag. Seal the end of the plastic bag, and use a rolling pin to smash it into little piece. My child had a lot of fun doing this step for me!

After ten minutes, take the mixture out of the freezer. Re-shape it into a ball, and remove the plastic wrap. Pour the broken-up pieces of Cheez-Its on a large plate. Roll the cheese ball in the Cheez-Its. Make sure the shape of the cheese ball is in tact, and place it on a platter.

Use a skewer to add lines to your pumpkin-shaped cheese ball. Break a piece of pretzel to turn it into a stem, and use a sprig of parsley as the leaf.

Plate it with pretzels and Cheez-Its, and enjoy!
