This is the time of year when posts start popping up about what moms really want for Mother’s Day. This Mother’s Day, it may surprise you that I’m not hoping for a special gesture of kindness. As much as I love spontaneous, sweet gestures, like an indulgent Saturday morning breakfast in bed or an impromptu family nature hike, those considerate moments manifest naturally and leave me feeling special every day. While my children are gifts in and of themselves, I appreciate the occasional present. Thoughtful gift giving reveals how attentive and kind my family is. Know a mom who enjoys receiving a gift? Check out some of the best gifts that any mom would appreciate.

Mother’s Day Gifts Any Mom Can Enjoy

For the mom whose bookshelf is overflowing…

Raising kids is tough work. At the end of the day, cuddling up with a book is my reward. Here are a few ideas for a mom who loves to read. The Paris Wife by Paula McLain is a romantic, intriguing book about the life of Ernest Hemingway’s first wife. I couldn’t put this novel down until I was finished. Another good pick for readers are notebooks from Baron Fig and Pen Heaven. I love taking notes as I read. For an unexpected, fun gift idea, give a favorite book in a different language. The next book I look forward to reading is Harry Potter à l’École des Sorciers. This gift idea can help moms keep up and expand their language skills, while enjoying a favorite book series. As a token of your appreciation, create a quiet time in the day dedicated just to reading.

For the outdoorsy mom…

As the weather gets warmer, sandals are a thoughtful choice. Chacos make the best sandals for an outdoorsy person. I’ve been wearing the Sofia sandals for the nice, sunny days. These shoes look nice for work, for casual occasions, or even for a hike outside. On the chilly, drizzly spring afternoons, the ToeCoop shoes another incredible pair. I wear mine with and without socks. They are some of the most comfortable shoes I own. Pair this gift with a trip to a local park for a day hiking, and you’re bound to make mom smile.

For the mom who crafts…

Organization is incredibly helpful to moms who craft. My three favorite craft supply holders are the Total Tote, the Crochet Tote, and the Rolling e-Tote from Creative Options. Giving this entire set would be a huge gift to support mom’s hobbies. I’ve used the Total Tote since Christmas and I would be completely disorganized without it. The Rolling e-Tote is my newest addition to my crafting room, and I love how its soft, supple fabric matches the Total Tote. Give mom plenty of time to craft while you take care of some chores to show how much you love her.

For the mom who loves gardening…

Flowers are a classic gift for a reason. There’s nothing nicer to me than walking into a room and being impressed by a lovely bouquet of flowers. Show your love on Mother’s Day with a thoughtfully chosen bouquet. I adored the Garden Pitcher Bouquet from Teleflora since it came with a pitcher I could actually use. The decorative, colorful garden pitcher looks beautiful on my dresser and is useful for watering my indoor plants. Give this along with a homemade bouquet from the kids for a heartfelt touch.

For the mom who has fun cooking…

Maille makes the best ingredients for home cooks. I love their classic ingredients, like balsamic vinegar and mustards. For a more adventurous flavor, buy the Collection les Jardins Secrets des Chefs. The items arrive with a beautiful presentation that includes a Mother’s Day free tea towel and gift bag. You receive three flavors of mustard, which includes carrot and shallot, olives and herbes de Provence, as well as beetroot and honey.

These are all great ideas and I would have a hard time choosing just one if these. The sandals look awesome and being someone who loves to cook, anything for my kitchen will win my heart on Mothers Day!

Wonderful ideas! I had a hard time figuring out what to get my mom this year – went with a book and flowers! I love receiving anything from my kids that is their idea, since it shows it was a gift from the heart (I know, cheesy but true!).

I do LOVE those shoes! Really, my favorite Mother’s Day gifts are time to myself and the effort my husband and children put into showing care.

Your opener made me smile. It reminded me so much of my mom! Being a wonderful daughter/son is (should be) an everyday thing so she really wants a gift on her day lol. This is a great round-up. I think she would love those sandals (and I’d love that Harry Potter book for myself!)
