Did you know that it’s National Children’s Dental Health month? Taking care of your children’s teeth is super important! I love taking my children to the dentist. They always learn such valuable skills, and they enjoy the experience. One of the most useful things I learned at a past visit was always to remember to brush my toddler’s teeth for her, instead of letting her brush her teeth herself. While helping to bring attention to National Children’s Dental Health month, I wanted to share some oral health care tips and explain my experience with a MAM Learn to Brush Set and the Oral Care Rabbit.

Oral Care Tips

Start caring for your baby’s teeth right away! With items, such as the Oral Care Rabbit, you can start getting in the habit of taking care of your baby’s hygiene from day one. Simply rub the bunny’s ears over your baby’s gums. This also works great for sore gums when your baby is teething! From my experience, teething can be a really hard time, and it’s great to find items that can resolve the pain.

As soon as your baby has teeth, start to brush! Use soft bristles at this age. MAM makes the softest toothbrushes just right for babies over six months. The size of the toothbrushes is perfect to fit in an infant’s mouth. Check that you use a fluoride free toothpaste until your child knows how to rinse.

As a mom of two kids under age six, I know from experience that using pacifiers is great. According to the AAPD, using pacifiers is recommended over thumbsucking, since it can be easier to wean kids off a pacifiers at a young age. My kids have always had an easy time weaning themselves off pacifiers, and they were never very attached to having a paci. MAM makes a great pacifier that I used when my kids were younger.

MAM sent me several of their items, and I adored them all! The oral care rabbit was especially adorable. My kids loved how cute the items were. Everything was really nice and ideal for infants to use. The muted coloring was very appealing too.

Start with oral care right away. As soon as they start to watch you, have them do it with you

Always be consistent when teaching kids good oral care habits, and set a good example for them to follow.
