If you’re watching your child head into a new school year, you may have already bought new clothes and supplies, but have you overlooked buying your child a new mattress? My daughter Samantha is just at the age when she’s ready to transition from a toddler bed to a twin bed. She has many ideas of how to update her bedroom to look older. From an updated bedding set to new wall hangings, she’s ready to make her room fit with her ever-changing hobbies and interests. Before updating the whole room, I decided that buying the right mattress was one of the most important things to consider in this process.

Toddler To Twin: Your Child’s First Big Kid Bed

When you’re deciding on a big kid bed for your child’s room, you should keep in mind the comfort, support and quality of the mattress. Since sleep is how your child re-energizes herself, a top quality mattress is key.

Transforming The Bedroom

I’ve loved watching Samantha grow up with her toddler princess bed. The idea of giving her bedroom a more mature look was tough to consider! When she asked me for a big kid bed, I needed to get used to the idea of her growing up so fast. In the end, since an excellent night’s sleep is what she needs, I ordered the twin Yogabed mattress. This mattress has high quality features that put my mind at ease.

Getting a new mattress from Yogabed was ideal for a few reasons. First, the old toddler bed was too small. It simply wouldn’t fit a 6 year old for much longer. Next, the mattress that she was previously using is a top quality, memory foam mattress. I didn’t want to downgrade the quality. Finally, when I started to research new mattresses for kids who outgrow their toddler bed, I noticed that the comfort system on this mattress is truly unique.

Being in first grade brings many changes. Samantha is starting many new adventures, from trying a new sport (tennis) to going to a new, more academically challenging school. I can tell that these changes require a better mattress. As she continues to grow, the new mattress is going to make a big difference in helping her rest well as she takes on new challenges.

We left the house thinking church was at 9 instead of 10... just enough time to get in a quick practice with her new @babolat racket.

Just in time to welcome the new school year, the new twin mattress arrived today! Samantha is so excited that she will have a new place to sleep soon.

I am especially excited that the Yogabed is a luxury foam mattress. Kids deal with so much stress! From academic pressure to athletic aspirations, kids are constantly trying to measure up to their peers and exceed their parents’ expectations. At the end of the day, a great night’s sleep is key.

Since Samantha will be working hard in many areas in her life this year, the new mattress will be a great way for her to rest at the end of a long day.

So crazy to think I had a whole full or queen bed all to myself as a child! It wasn’t until I was in college that I finally got a twin! xD This yoga bed looks amazing though!

My first went from crib to day bed to full size bed by the time he was 2 years old. He was pretty easy but I know my second one will be hard to transition!

I had never heard of this before but I totally want one! We bought my son a wooden fire truck bed and he’s always whacking his arms off of it when he sleeps. This seems much better

We are in the process of making the move to a toddler bed, but I might just skip that for the bigger bed to begin with. This one looks awesome!

These beds seem great! I don’t have kids but many of my friends do right around this age. Definitely passing this along 🙂
