A true love of clothing can take you around the world. Clothing is an artistic representation of culture. Fashion teaches geography, the study of people and places. Ordering clothes from overseas has always been an educational and fun adventure for my kids. As a mom of two kids under age six, I introduce my kids to cultures around the world with clothes. My daughters, Samantha and Georgiana, learn that embracing the beauty of different places is cool. When Redfish, a Canadian-based kids’ clothing company, offered to send their clothes for my daughters to wear, I was impressed with their worldly designs, beautiful colors, and interesting patterns.

Although my daughters are American born and raised, they have been exposed to a wide variety of styles so far in their lives. In the past couple of years, they have tried out clothes from Sweden, the United Kingdom, New Zealand, France, and many local brands created by entrepreneurs from the United States. This was my first time to try out clothes from a Canadian-based company. I learned that Redfish Kids has been in business for 10 years, successfully developing a brand with cool kids’ clothing that have even been featured in a scene with Julia Roberts in the movie Eat Pray Love.

The style of the clothes fit with the liberating theme the movie has. With the Lucky Dress in pink willow, kids can twirl around in the soft, pre-washed cotton material. Another dress, the Party Dress in chamomile sky, also has a long, comfortable style perfect for the fall weather. Both items have a comfortable fit so kids can move freely, while the flowing skirts offer warmth kids need as the weather changes.Cool Kids Clothing Fall 2015 from Redfish #courageouskids - Theresa's Reviews - www.theresasreviews.comGeorgiana fit well in the 2T dress and leggings. Checking out the style of the dress, I could see that the company finds inspiration in many places outside of Canada. The mandarin collar and the pattern reminded me of Shanghai street style. Both items were made of a material thick enough to keep kids warm in chilly weather. Paired with a boots and a sweater, Georgiana was comfortable going to the store on a brisk, overcast day.

Samantha also adored wearing her outfit. Every Saturday morning, she attends an acting class. Walking into her classroom, the dress and leggings gave her a confidence boost. At first, she was shy to see her teacher, but twirling around made her much more comfortable. When the class ended, she received a huge compliment that the teacher could tell how much she had been practicing her lines because she had the song memorized! I was glad the outfit helped her become more courageous so she could show her talent and skill to her teachers. After class, Samantha asked if she could please wear the outfit to the final performance. If she isn’t wearing a squirrel costume, she’ll absolutely be wearing this beautiful outfit from Redfish Kids. Do you have a courageous kid story too?
