Recently, 4DX technology came to Washington DC. Although the technology is new to this area, as of December 2017, it is popular around the world. More than 57,000 4DX seats operate in 475 auditoriums spanning 57 countries and six continents. There has also been a positive response to the 4DX movie theaters that are in Los Angeles, New York, Seattle, and Orlando.

Recently, a new 4DX movie theater has opened in Washington DC!

Jonathan Liebeman, the director of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, says, “4DX is just beyond my imagination. For the first time, it reached the level I wished that I had in my head. It’s just the whole another level for the audience.”

4DX is the first 4D technology for feature films. Some examples of what you might experience include that in a water scene, you can feel the splashes, mists, and squirts of water.

With 4DX technology, you can experience the weather around you as you see the visuals on the screen.

During a driving or chase scene, the motion chairs would make you feel that you are part of the ride. When an action or fight scene happens, the movements help you experience the action. In a music or dance scene, you not only hear the music, but also feel it from your seat.

Movies can incorporate scents to go with the scene. The nine scents include rose, mountain, gunpowder, rubber, grass, ocean, peach, wood, and beef. Popular scents include gunpowder for an action scene, rose for a cosmetics advertisement, and rubber for an explosion scene.

What I like most about the 4DX movie technology is the environmental effects. Seeing fog or snow up-close adds more to experience!

The synchronized chair movement that goes along with the action sounds really freaking cool. My kids would think they are actually in the movie. I recently showed them the original Jumanji and they are looking forward to seeing the new one.

I also enjoyed your 3 Tips for Planning a Blogger Meetup. I’ve been wanting to do that for a minute now. I’m motivated to do it this year.

Oh my!! That must have been fantastic! There’s no way we’d ever get one of those theaters here in my small town in Texas. Maybe one day we can get to DC!
