Having the right luggage is important to the successful planning of a summer vacation. As I was planning how to get my two kids under age six to the beach without forgetting their long list of essential items, I received my daughter’s first piece of travel luggage. In the past, she has owned dance bags, backpacks and purses, but she has never owned a duffle bag made just for taking a vacation or an overnight trip. Now, with the new, pink duffle bag from the Nashville-based brand Wildkin, she is prepared for vacations, while also looking ready to relax and enjoy an adventure.

Wildkin Pink Giraffe Weekender Review

Having the right accessories matters to my daughters. To Samantha, everything should be pink, purple, or sparkly. Whether something looks cute and fun is something that she can instantly determine by glancing at an item. The neat thing about my daughter is that she’s such a down to earth kid with a huge heart. When she discovered the Pink Giraffe Weekender bag from Wildkin, it matched her personality perfectly. She adored the soft, muted pink color, and as an animal lover, she was fascinated with the giraffe print.

The bag had a spacious design. Inside, there was plenty of room for clothes, a beach towel, goggles, and a couple favorite stuffed animals. Samantha marveled at the numerous zippered pouches, even though she wasn’t sure why they were there. When I explained she could organize socks in a separate space from shoes, she told me that seemed unnecessary. Since I’ll be the one packing our bags, I look forward to teaching her how to pack properly to help her see how valuable organization is on a long vacation.

You can carry the duffle bag two different ways. Since the item came with a long strap, it could be carried over the shoulder. Using the long strap would be better for girls older than my daughter. When my daughter put the long strap over her shoulder, she had a hard time carrying the bag. She wasn’t used to having to carry weight on one shoulder, so she felt unbalanced.

For younger kids, a better choice is to use the two short straps. My daughter was able to hold the straps with both of her hands, which helped her get used to carrying her new duffle bag. In the past, she had only carried light, small bags, such as her backpack or a purse. Holding the large duffle bag was new to her. After carrying the duffle bag for some pictures, she looked a lot more comfortable.

Wearing a first duffle bag was a huge milestone. I was so impressed to see my little girl showing her strength and looking ready to see the world. The item fit my daughter’s size well. Because the bag had so much space, it will continue to fit Samantha as she grows taller in the upcoming years. I will look forward to using the bag for many family vacations in our future.

What a great bag! We have duffles for each of the kids for travelling, but they don’t have separate zippered areas. It’s great that this one does!

I love my animal prints! Super cute weekender. It’s good you start her on the organizational side of packing now, it will save her so much time and energy later on when she is totally packing for trips on her own!

I was JUST talking about giraffes to a friend today! Wondering how tall they were in real life. Lol! I love the print of your new weekender getaway bag. It’s definitely something I’d buy for sure.

My daughter would love this bag for two reasons: it’s pink and has zebra print. I actually could use a new duffel bag. I like using them when I go to the pool or travel.
