Having recently taken a vacation to Ocean City, Maryland, I was enamored with the water, the sand, and the relaxation that comes with a beach vacation. When Dune Jewelry contacted me about writing a review, the idea of memorializing my experience at the beach was heartwarming. Taking a family vacation when my daughters are so young is a very special memory. As a mom of two children, I realize that before long, the girls will be grown, and they will be happy exploring the world independently. While I adore receiving new jewelry, the meaning behind the product was what mattered most to me.

Reviewing Dune Jewelry

To try out the experience of ordering a piece of Dune Jewelry, I received the Sandglobe necklace. Inside the pendant, I requested sand that was actually taken from the beach where I stayed in Ocean City. One of the neatest things was that I could pinpoint almost the exact street where my beach condo was. When most people think of Ocean City, the first thing to come to mind is the boardwalk. I stayed over a hundred blocks away from the boardwalk. Thoughtfully, the company had anticipated the many various places people would want their sand to come from for their jewelry.

To give the jewelry a more dramatic look, I chose the longest chain, 20 inches. I liked that the necklace dangled below some of my V-neck shirts. With a long chain, I could also layer the necklace with other short chains and less prominent pendants to create a trendy look with the item. The pendant has been just the right size for me.

While examining some pictures, I noticed that the design of each pendant looks slightly different. Because the sand comes from all over the world, the sand on one beach can look different from the sand somewhere else. To get the prettiest coloring, I would recommend choosing sand from a beach where you know the sand is beautiful. Even though I knew that Assateague Island had the prettiest white sand, getting sand from Ocean City was more meaningful to me.

Dune Jewelry sells more than just necklaces. You can also buy rings, bracelets, earrings, cuffs, belt buckles, and charms. Each item has the special feature of including sand from the beach. Check out all the places where the company collects sand for their sandbank. Even far off destinations in Africa, Estonia, Antarctica, and Iceland are included. There are also plenty of commonly traveled beaches in Florida and off the coast of California. Interested in learning more? Contact the company via Facebook.

It’s a really beautiful piece of jewelry! I never heard of sand jewelry but the idea of capturing a part of the world that people feel connect to is great.

It’s really cool that they collect sand from all over! These are really pretty. I have fond memories of Michigan beaches so I’d have to chose one of those.

What a fantastic idea! I have made necklaces before out of small vials of sand and given them as souvenirs to friends from a special place I traveled. But of course they weren’t nearly as beautiful as this!

That is a great way to have a souvenir of the place you visited. I agree with you to get a longer chain for your pendant. Easier to mix and match with other items
