Recently, I opened my email and saw an invitation to visit Los Angeles for #PixarCocoEvent! This all expenses paid trip would take me to the red carpet premiere of Disney Pixar Coco. As a huge Disney fan, I took a minute before realizing what the words in front of me meant. This would be three days of writing, blogging, and learning about a movie I’m excited to see. This is an experience unlike anything I’ve ever done before. In my years of working in the movie industry from 2008 – 2014, I’ve never been to a red carpet premiere. I hope you follow along on this incredible adventure to Hollywood!

I'm going to #PixarCocoEvent 11/7-11/7! Theresa's Reviews goes to Los Angeles with Disney!

Follow Along 11/7 – 11/9 For The #PixarCocoEvent

From November 7th to November 9th, I will share this event in real time on social media. If you haven’t yet heard of the movie Coco, this will be a great way to learn more about it. The movie releases on November 22, 2017. When I return from Los Angeles, I look forward to taking my family to the movie release at our local movie theater. My children can’t wait to see it.

Seeing the United States premiere with 24 other bloggers is an excellent opportunity. Not only am I looking forward to the movie itself, but also getting to know the other bloggers. We will all be promoting the event on social media using the hashtag #PixarCocoEvent.

Set in Mexico, the movie shares the story of a young boy, Miguel as he tries to learn more about his family. In the process of getting to know himself and follow his dreams, he must challenge the wishes of his well-meaning great grandmother.

Land Of The Dead

Through a series of events, Miguel ends up in the Land of the Dead. He must overcome challenges to return home.

The movie is heavily influenced by Mexican culture and the Day of the Dead festivities. It comes as no surprise that the filmmakers spent much time in Mexico to make the film authentic.

"BLESSED?

Learn more about the filmmaker’s research process in the recently released Crafting Coco clip.

Musical Theme

One of the biggest themes of the movie is music. Miguel dreams of being a musician but must hide this dream from his family. The movie has a strong fantasy element, but many children (and adults) will be able to relate to the love of music that Miguel has.

I am so excited to see CoCo. I was at Disney yesterday and they had a lot of the merch in the stores already. I also LOVE that they are doing a Big Hero 6 show. That is one of my daughter’s favorites.
