I discovered a cool gift idea for babies. Little Toaders AppeTEETHERS help young kids’ sore gums feel better. Teething was such a pain when my daughter was younger. Now, she sometimes still puts items in her mouth, even though she isn’t actually still teething. For a Christmas gift, I tossed a couple food shaped teethers in the holiday stocking. Before Christmas, while playing in the kids’ kitchen, I had noticed that my daughter put fake food in her mouth during play time to pretend to eat. I had my children use the teethers as fake food in their kitchen as they played. With the teething products, my aim was to ensure that my daughter was only putting play food in her mouth that was safe and healthy for her.

Review of Little Toader AppeTEETHERS

Since my daughter Georgiana is almost two years old, she is too old to really need teething products. Most of her baby teeth have come in, possibly even all of them. Even though teething is over, mouthing has begun. According to Speech-Language pathologist Suzanne Morris, Ph.D., the owner of educational company New Visions, mouthing toys can provide comfort to young children. Using quality toys for chewing is age appropriate for my daughter, even if she is past the teething stage. To support the developmental stage of mouthing, I tried out a trendy style of teethers.

I received two items: a broccoli teether and an ice cream teether. Both had a nice texture that would appeal to babies with sore gums. When my baby was teething, I discovered that the best teethers had jagged edges to create friction when the baby chewed. Small ridges on the broccoli and the ice cream made the items look more appealing for teething babies.

Both of my daughters enjoyed adding the food items to their play kitchen. To my kids, the ice cream became an ingredient for a delicious ice cream cake that they whipped up in a pan on the play stove. When added to a pot with some other play food, the broccoli became an essential ingredient in a stew. Since the teethers were BPA, PVC, lead, and phthalate free, I was relieved that my kids could pretend to eat the food without risking their health. Other play food is usually made from cheap plastic or made with paint that chips. With most play food, I can never know if the toys could create health problems. Little Toader AppeTEETHERS are made with a strong material that is meant for chewing.

These are so cute. I wish they had them when my kids were little. I will keep these in mind for baby shower gifts.

I have to LOL at that broccoli one. I wonder if that would make the child love broccoli more when they got older?!?!
