While scouring the internet for fashion trends, discovered that muted colors were a flattering trend for kids in summer 2014. Offering several Pinnable kids’ clothing options, kids’ clothing company Finn + Emma provided me with a dark green, grayish bodysuit and a rattle buddy named Piper. Together, the items would make an excellent baby gift for new moms! I loved how the items matched with complimentary colors. Because of my background in the fashion industry, I considered the style, coloring and fashion of the bodysuit. I let my daughter Georgiana try the onesie out for a couple weeks to help with my writing.
Review of the Children’s Clothes and Rattle
With muted colors, the outfit appealed to me. I thought the design was fashionable and trendy with a hipster, bohemian look. Wearing the bodysuit, my daughter was a huge inspiration as I worked on my photography. Neutral color tones made the item very practical, as the item could work as a hand me down for girls or boys. The earthy tones looked beautiful, while my daughter ran in the yard during my photo shoot.
Discovering a turtle in the yard, my husband excitedly gathered both of the kids as he saw an amazing teaching moment. I loved that the onesie was comfortable for Georgiana to sprint across our yard in the morning dew. Being outdoorsy and adventurous was simple because the clothes had a wonderful fit and soft fabric. Georgiana enjoyed playing and she liked the clothes. I thought the style was very sweet and age appropriate. Even though the style had an innocence that was perfect for my toddler, the sophistication of the coloring made the item appeal to me as a fashion conscious mom.
During the week, the outfit dealt with many dropped spoonfuls of turkey and rice pureed baby food. Every time my daughter wore the outfit, the first spoonful that I would go to feed to her would fall. Luckily, the clothes did fine in the laundry. All of the stains came out with no problem. After laundering the clothes, I was relieved that the item didn’t shrink. I was really excited to find a onesie big enough for an 18 month old, and I was happy that the item continued to leave extra room for growth after going through the dryer.
Playing with the rattle toy, my daughter had a blast. Both of my girls changed the name of the elephant to “Ella.” Inside the toy, a soft bell ringing with a light noise made Georgiana grin. As a mom constantly on the go, I loved that the toy had a convenient small size that made it simple to toss in any size diaper bag or purse. Obviously the toy was a big hit with my daughters.
