Recently I received some fun clothing items for my youngest 8 1/2 month old daughter, Georgiana, from the Canada-based company Electrik Kidz. Usually Georgiana wears a lot of her older sister’s hand-me-downs. I was excited to get some new hip clothes for my baby to wear. Because I have a background of attending several fashion shows, including New York Fashion Week, and interning for fashion photographers, I examined the clothes’ style. As a mom, I also evaluated the comfortability, practicality, and safety of the items. I wrote a review to share my experience with the clothes.
Review of the Baby Bandana
I had never previously tried a baby bandana before I received the product from the company. The Cherry Tree baby bandana, which retailed for $20, had a unique and adorable style! I really liked the girly pink design with flowers and birds. As a mom, I loved the practicality of the bandana. Georgiana’s bandana came with a ribbon that I used to attach a pacifier so she could always have easy access to her binkie.
At first I wasn’t sure how to properly use the bandana. I let my daughter wear the bandana in the playroom when the binkie dragged across the floor, and I realized that the bandana was most practical for times when I was holding my daughter or when she was in her portable play yard. I also used the bandana when I took my daughter out to run errands. Having the pacifier so close at all times was very convenient.
My daughter was comfortable in the bandana and never tried to remove it. Material used to make the bandana was soft and light. I liked that the product never got in my daughter’s way as she played. My daughter loved having her binkie nearby, and she enjoyed chewing on the bandana too. The bandana was an excellent playtime accessory that was easy to toss in the diaper bag on the go.
Because I was a safety-conscious parent, I double checked with the company to find out more about how parents can use the product safely. According to an e-mail with the company, all products, including the bandana, were tested in a laboratory and were approved and accredited by the US Consumer Safety Commission (CPSC). Parents should use the product during daytime, as the product isn’t meant to be used during the baby’s sleep time. Personally, I felt that the product was very safe to use under my supervision.
I also received a Crew Neck Owl sweatshirt, which retailed for $42. I liked how the softness of the material made my daughter comfortable for play and for nap time. My daughter, who is 8 1/2 months old, fit perfectly in the 6-12 month sweatshirt and had room to grow. The style and design went well with the bandana. I could tell that the sweatshirt looked nice with other winter clothes in my daughter’s closet. In the future, I plan to keep up with the company’s new unique designs!
For more information, join the company on Facebook and Twitter. For parents who enjoy baby competitions, visit the company’s website to submit photos of your baby wearing the company’s products for a chance to win. Personally, I submitted a photo of my baby, as my oldest daughter has won numerous baby competitions, and I felt that my youngest daughter might like to have a chance in some baby competitions too. As a thank you to my readers, I’ll be giving away 4 baby bandanas to residents of the USA and Canada on the Facebook Page for Theresa’s Reviews. (THIS CONTEST HAS NOW ENDED).
