This article was updated on May 31, 2017 with some additional information after using the stroller for a year.

Visiting Walt Disney World means multiple challenges – from surviving the road trip to managing meltdowns – but using a stroller you enjoy can make your visit much simpler. Each style of stroller has pros and cons. With lighter models, you miss out on many of the features that a more bulky stroller has. This summer, I brought my BOB Gear 2016 Revolution Pro on a three day visit to Magic Kingdom, Epcot, and Animal Kingdom. Check out how this stroller worked during our visit to Walt Disney World.

Stroller Parking

One question many parents have before visiting Walt Disney World is what they will do with their stroller while they are there. Each park has a separate stroller parking section. These areas are set away from the crowd. Since the stroller parking areas are convenient to the rides, you can park your stroller and ride all the rides in one area before walking to a new area.

I watched many parents leaving diaper bags, snacks, and even small shopping bags with purchases in their strollers. Overall, the stroller parking areas looked pretty safe, but you shouldn’t leave something very valuable that you couldn’t part with in a visible area.

In order to quickly recognize your stroller, another tip is to tie a bright ribbon on the handle. This way, you can quickly locate the stroller in a crowd.

Since stroller parking is required for many rides, you should have a clear idea of how you will identify your stroller before you arrive at Walt Disney World.

Convenience

First, the BOB Gear 2016 Revolution Pro has some convenient features, but moving it around quickly is not one of them. When you fold it up, it fits nicely in a trunk. We were able to easily transport it to Florida, but it was more bulky and difficult to fold than some other lighter models were.

One convenient feature is the storage space, which I highlighted in my live Facebook video from the Magic Kingdom. You have plenty of room for a couple children’s backpacks and a purse. I was able to fit snacks, souvenirs, and princess dresses without a problem. When it rained, our belongings stayed completely dry.

When you’re traveling with snacks and drinks, this stroller has pockets to keep everything your children need. Next to the seat, there’s storage space for children to quickly grab a snack bag or a water bottle.

If you have limited trunk space for our vacation, the BOB Revolution Pro can still fit, even with plenty of luggage. Although the stroller is not as convenient as a small, lightweight umbrella stroller, it offers many benefits (storage space for cups and more leg room) that a more inexpensive stroller wouldn’t have.

Comfort

Whether you stay at Walt Disney World the entire day or take breaks in your hotel room, your kids will want to rest in a comfortable location from time to time.

Since my daughter loved sitting in the stroller as often as possible, I could tell that she enjoyed how nice it felt.

You get exceptional comfort with this stroller. The seats are nicely padded, and they can recline. If your child will be in the stroller for most of the day, the padded seats help keep them from getting cranky.

Single Or Double?

One issue that I explained in my recent Huffington Post article, What To Do When Your Child Has A Meltdown, was that children get extremely tired and fall apart at Walt Disney World frequently. If you’re traveling with two young kids, it can be tempting to bring a double stroller, although a double stroller can be more inconvenient to fold up and carry in the hotel bus because of its size.

I ended up going with a single stroller since my older daughter is far too old to use a stroller on a regular basis. Both kids ended up wanting to ride. You will use a double stroller if you bring one because kids tire very easily.

Since my younger daughter needed a long nap every day at Disney World, having a single stroller was great. However, by the end of the trip on our third day of being there, my older daughter started giving up on walking too. We were actually walking close to 10 miles a day! I’m not sure how any of us had enough energy to get through our third day there, but we were too exhausted to even consider another day at an amusement park after that.

Being at an amusement park from the time it opens until closing can take a toll on kids of any age. Keep this in mind when you are deciding what style stroller to bring. Looking back, a double stroller would have been very helpful on many occasions.

Large Canopy For Shade And Sun Protection

When you’re visiting Walt Disney World in the summer, the heat is a main concern. Our day at Animal Kingdom was unbearably hot! The sun made us all exhausted.

With an extra large, UPF 50+ canopy, this stroller is ideal for keeping your child protected from the sun.

In any weather, day or night, the Bob Revolution Pro was a great stroller for our travels. It was bulkier than some other models, but it had many advantages that made it the right stroller for us.

The Final Verdict

This stroller was perfect for getting fit before visiting Disney World, as I explained in this article. If you are going to be walking 10 miles a day at a theme park, you need a high level of fitness. You should get a jogging stroller to prepare for your visit to Disney World, but you will find pros and cons to bringing it there.

Such great tips! I highly recommend a double stroller for Disney. We had a 15 month old and 6 year old when we went. Our 6 year old needed rest too. And, Disney has a place where you can rent them for your vacation. LIFE SAVER!

I know, and I think that would work well for a lot of families! We loved having our stroller with us for the whole road trip, including St. Augustine and Savannah, Georgia. 🙂

What a lovely trip you must have had! I love your little one in her dress as she relaxes in the comfy stroller — beautiful! Also, great tip to tie a ribbon onto the stroller for easy identification. I had not ever thought of that.
